  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup semolina flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup honey, warmed
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer 8 sheets of phyllo dough in the dish, brushing each layer generously with melted butter.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together semolina flour, eggs, granulated sugar, whole milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth. Pour this filling over the phyllo base.
  4. Top with another layer of phyllo, brushing each sheet with butter and scoring the top lightly with a knife.
  5. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown and set in the center.
  6. Allow cooling for 10 minutes and then drizzle with warmed honey and sprinkle toasted sesame seeds before slicing.
